Center for Healthy Aging at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark

The Center for Healthy Aging is a research centre at University of Copenhagen and focuses on research into aging for better health and reduced frailty throughout life. The research will provide new knowledge on how more people can live healthy lives and enjoy a robust old-age. The multidisciplinary research programmes at the Center will investigate biomedical, social and psychological causes of healthy aging, and this knowledge will form the basis for new initiatives for both prevention and treatment. The Center started its activities in January 2009.

The Center has been established initially as a network of independent research units that will be gathered together at the Faculty of Health Sciences. From its inauguration, the Centre has been part of a strong international research community through its involvement in the International Alliance of Research Universities. The Centre's aspiration is to become a magnet for international research talent. It will attract new international researchers and establish new collaborative relationships to assist aging related research, education, and health care initiatives of the highest international standards.
