The project will be managed by a strong management group, guided by the coordinator and project Secretariat and an external Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC). The activation of the Secretariat will be the responsibility of the coordinator which in-turn for the project’s delivery and success. The Management Committee will be responsible for defining the focus of the project and for ensuring that key EU and national level policies and initiatives are incorporated into the knowledge pool and activities within the work packages. The Management Committee will be convened for the first time during Month 1 and meet subsequently at least twice a year. Wherever possible these meetings will be coupled with other events (e.g. workshops, secondment visits) to reduce travel and personnel costs. A special Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for handling all budgetary and financial issues and will report to the Coordinator and the Management Committee. The Coordinator will be required to report on the Secretariat activities to the Management Committee and will form part of the Committee.
